Black Hills Backroads
Away from the main thoroughfares, a network of beautiful backroads snake their way through the Black Hills.  They offer access to stunning photo sites, from rushing streams and rocky outcrops, to golden aspen stands and historic ghost towns.  On this workshop you will travel off the beaten path, rolling through spectacular hill country, fall foliage, and beautiful creeks, to explore one of the many ghost towns hidden throughout the Black Hills.  From fall landscapes to glimpses of the past, on this workshop you will experience a wide variety of the beautiful and inspiring photography opportunities the Black Hills has to offer.
Type:  Outdoor Workshop
Activity Level:  Low. Most of the photography will be done relatively close to the vehicle, although there may be a few short walks during the trip.
Things to know:  Photographers will ride in/drive their own vehicles and we strongly encourage car pooling. This will be a bumpy ride as it is on back roads, so vehicles that ride a little higher are highly recommended (jeep, suv, truck). This workshop is about 45 minutes from BHSU and the exact route will be determined just prior to the workshop as it will vary depending on road, weather and color conditions.
What to bring:  Lenses from wide angle to moderate telephoto. A tripod is always a good thing but hand-holding is sometimes necessary depending on the subject.  Fill flash could be used as well, especially in the ghost town, but is not required.
