Composition Concepts: Art Isn’t by Accident

“It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera… they are made with the eye, heart and head.” – Henri Cartier-Bresson

“A composition is an arrangement, built out of parts, that aims at seamlessness.” – Eric Maisel

As photographers we can be very conflicted artists, having to balance the technical/logical side of our brains, with the artistic/creative sides, as we use technology to realize our creative visions. Your goal as a photographer is more than just getting the settings “right”, its an attempt to express your vision and your emotional response to a scene.

In this class you will discover the elements of design, how to put together the various components of an image.  You will learn key concepts of composition for fine art photography, along with tips and techniques to help you create works that are visually appealing, moving, and which reveal your creative vision.
